Hey Family…. Are you having fun yet? Oh, the party hasn’t even gotten started yet..lol Did you check out my previous blog post about the 40 ’til 40? Click Here to read all about it. As the party continues here is look #2 of my 40 ’til 40 theme. This FA-BU-LOUS polka dot Ankara skirt…. Now, I am not a skirt person at all, but this skirt may have just changed my mind. The hi-lo feature is what won me over along side this show stopping Ankara fabric. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the multi colored polka dots . When I think of Ankara I would not have thought of multi colored polka dots as my first choice which is probably why I love it so much…It’s just different and I LOVE different!
I made this skirt last year (2018) and I honestly cannot tell you why especially knowing that I probably wouldn’t wear it. I’m a dress and jumpsuit kinda girl….lol I’m so happy I did make it, because it open my eyes to see beyond my comfort dress code.
This skirt is lined and was a pretty easy make. The construction was very straight forward. I cut the size 12 and made alterations to the waist. I took the waist in by 1 1/2 inches.
Because I’m tall the length of this skirt was perfect for me so I did not have to make any alterations to the hem.
The one thing I wish you could see about this skirt is how it flows. OMG when the wind hits this skirt as you walk, it makes you feel like Mary Poppins..no lie..lol
Well I hope you enjoyed this look as much as I did. Thank you so much for stopping by and I can’t wait to see you again!
Much Love and Many Blessings!
