McCalls 7726 // DIY High-Waisted Pleated Pants

Heyyy Family…..Happy Wednesday!!!  Who told South Florida it was allowed to get cold? No Bueno…No Bueno!!! I live in South Florida and we don’t know cold.  So when I saw 61 degrees on my weather app I was like NOOOO!!!

Ok…OK… I know what you’re saying… “Tisa, really,  61 degrees is not cold girl”. I know, but for me it is……..

So with that I decided to make these high-waisted pleated pants.  Living in Florida I rarely wear pants.  But when I do, I love to go with Linen because of the easy breezy feel it has. I found this delicious linen FABRIC from Joann’s Fabric. I’ve grown a love affair for linen.

I must say I love these pants. The pleats give it such a great look and fit.  I made a sash to go with these pants, but I opted to wear it with a belt instead.

Who doesn’t love pockets? I know I do, but when I put these pants on I was able to see the pocket through my pants and I did not like that.  So I stitched the pockets closed and cut out the pocket bag.  Ahhhh…much better!!!

If you asked me last year to wear linen, I would have said “HECK NO”!! Ohh I bite my tongue now.  I never gave it a chance.  But I seen one of my clients in a beautiful linen dress and decided to give it a chance. So happy I did.

  1. These look great on you! I am in the middle (zipper install) of the cropped version. Mine are in a cream and charcoal blue pinstripe linen. I was concerned that they would be too see through so, I backed them in a very light cotton muslin. Now, to get the fit right. I have a very flat rear and have never worn a pant with back pleats. They will either mask the problem or, make it worse. Hoping for the first option!
