The Lady in Blue

Hello Family!!!  Welcome to my New Blog!!!  I cannot express to you how SUPER EXCITED I am to have finally made this happen.  I am extremely thankful to GOD who made this all possible!!

I wanted to start my blog with my 1st lady. My Mother. She has been my cheerleader, my promoter and my role model….but more importantly, she’s been my friend through it all.  So without futher adieu…let my introduce you to my mom..the reason I’m even here on this planet.

I call my mom the social butterfly. She has an event almost every weekend because she is so involved in the local community.  Now who do you think she comes to when she needs a dress for all these events???  You got it…Me…Simply T!! LOL.  She came to me on Tuesday and said “Tisa, can you make me a dress for Friday”?  (Looking at me with those puppy eyes). Now you know the look on my face right?  I wanted to say “HELL NO” Ma, but of course I didn’t and I made this dress. Now I would not suggest you do this!!!

About The Dress

Pattern Description: Close-fitting and flared tops and dresses have neckline variations, elasticized (seamed) waist, and narrow hems.

Pattern Sizing: XS(4-6); S(8-10); M(12-14); L(16-18); XL(20-22); XXL(24-26)

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes they were.  This is a very easy pattern. Great for a beginner sewist.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked everything about this pattern.  Especially considering I only had a few days to make it.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?  I would definitely sew this again.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lowered the back neckline of the dress and made the sleeves longer

Fabric Used: I used Rayon Spandex blend from Joann’s Fabric.

Overall, this pattern is great for a beginner. No zippers or buttons.  This was a great relief for me considering I had 4 days to make a dress for my mom.

Thank you and remember to always go for it!!!  No looking back!!

  1. Congratulations on your new space here Tisa! You mother looks lovely–what a nice versatile pattern! This style would be so great in any number of fabrics and it looks like it’d be a great base pattern for pattern hacking too!
